My experience with the mobile caribou camp was everything that I had hoped for, I had several good opportunities to score in good bow range, as did everyone else in our camp. My wife and I enjoyed our hunt very much. I'm sure glad we did it before we got any older. I thought we hunted very hard and never even took a nap! As always bow hunting is very difficult in the bush. That we experienced many times before. Positioning of course is everything, I find the caribou not as alert then deer or elk are! This is my second year bow hunting. The past week at Bow Camp has far exceeded my expectations. I arrowed two bulls on my fourth day. These are magnificent animals. However, it is the total experience of this hunt that makes it so special; brook trout, lake trout, fresh abundant blueberries, good companionship. God willing, I shall return. I had a great time on my hunt, it was challenging and exciting. Caribou can be very tricky to kill with a bow, one minute you think you have them figured out, and then the next you don't. Which makes it so satisfying when you do take a nice caribou with a bow. Gerry is an excellent guide and cook, very knowledgeable about every aspect of the outdoors and hunting. I am an experienced bowhunter with many trips logged over the years. I have never had a better bowhunt than with BOWHUNTING CANADA. The camp was clean and well organized. Gerry's attention to detail and the needs of each individual hunter was always outstanding. The food was excellent (the best I've had in a hunting camp) and the accommodations were more than adequate. I had the opportunity to catch some great lake trout, my first brook trout and see some of the best country in North America. On my last hunting day, I filled my second tag with a Pope and Young class bull; truly the icing on the cake for the best trips. I would highly recommend this adventure.

Even though we had 4 days of rain, I had a great time. I killed my first caribou - a cow and a bull - both were equally exiting. The food was great, as were our guide. My hunting trip was great. The first day I was able to shoot one bull and one cow. The next day, I spent packing them out. The 3rd day, I went fishing. There is always something to do. I was able to shoot some spruce grouse and also just rest. The camp was well managed by Gerry and he is a very good cook. I am looking forward to doing the hunt with Bowhunting Canada again. This was my first hunt for caribou. Both my brother and my dad were here last year. So I have heard how great the experience was all year long. I was more exciting than I ever could imagine. My caribou trip was an experience I will never forget. Each day was something new. When ground hunting, the caribou were close enough to touch. The scenery was beautiful and very quiet. I really enjoyed my caribou hunt. Not only was I able to harvest my first caribou with a bow, but I saw and experienced many bulls and large groups. I missed a very large bull at about 30 yards.
