Bow Arrows

Bow arrows are an important part of the archers quiver, the quiver is actually designed to hold arrows. While wood is the traditional building material for arrows, it is still used in some situations, wood has largely been replaced with aluminum and carbon arrows. Wood warps in different conditions which drastically effects the accuracy of the shot, and modern compound bows are so powerful that they can shatter the arrow possibly driving the splinters into the archers arm.

Aluminum bow arrows are the most popular due to their low cost and durability. They are heavier than wood and carbon which makes them excellent at penetration but they are also thicker than carbon arrows making them slower. Aluminum arrows will stay straight for a while but carbon arrows will stay straighter for longer.

Carbon bow arrows are a bit more expensive but when taken good care of (no shooting rocks) they can last for a lifetime. They are thin and light which gives them unrivalled speed and accuracy and they can have a number of different broad heads, mechanical heads and points attached to them like any arrow. The arrows are stabilized with either plastic or feather stabilizers both providing similar accuracy. Learn as much about the “spine” of the arrow as possible for the most accurate shots.
